Pink Poodle in Paris

Here are precious pictures from a friends Pink Poodle in Paris party for her daughter's first birthday.

Party Tip: Post-it Notes

I may be stating the obvious, but I have always found it very helpful to label serving pieces with post-it notes the day before a party.  Even though I am usually very organized, the day of is always hectic.  The post-it notes help me to not have to think about what food is going where when I am pressed for time.  Better yet, if I have someone helping me out before a party, they can look at the post-its to see where the food goes without having to ask!

Wild About Babies: Zebra Shower

Take a Walk on the Wild Side with us for a minute...

It was a WILD ride as this shower had to be post-poned after it's original date was the morning after hurricane Ike's landfall, so by the time the event was re-scheduled, Carter was days away from arriving!

Designed around the Safari theme of the baby bedding; The invitations, shower game, diaper centerpiece, cake and favor labels all incorporated the zebra print and elephants of the nursery decor.

Zebra print is a favorite pattern of my own, and is used a lot in my own home and wardrobe! I was especially excited to wrap my gifts to the mommy-to-be in Zebra Patterned Paper!

Guests left with the baggies of chocolate McKenzie Cookies adorned with the matching sticker that read "Can't Wait for Carter!" I guess you could say that with the guest of honor, the zebra pattern, the "Pop Culture" Baby names games, and the best cookies in the world...this shower was brimming with some of my very favorite things!

Welcome to the Jungle, Baby Carter!

Melinda and Todd: A Sunny Wedding in Del Ray Beach, FL

Melinda and Todd's destination wedding in Florida was a fabulous combination of preppy but bold colors. Held at the Gulf Stream Bath & Tennis Club, the reception was dotted with bright colors. Juicy orange and passionate pink popped in the bouquets, on the beverage napkins, and on the labels accenting the favors.

Special touches were incorporated throughout the entire planning process. The navy and pink invitation had a custom pink liner and the groom's brother designed the logo used by HH Design House on many of the custom products. This meaningful logo was a perfect symbol of the uniting couple with interlocking rings incorporating a golf tee and a Georgia peach.

The couple topped off this brilliant and colorful wedding by honeymooning on a tropical island.

Best Wishes for a bright and happy future!

Everything's Bigger in Texas! A first Birthday in Houston, TX

This cowboy's first birthday was really something to hoot and holler about! Party goers saddled up and settled in for one heck of a party. The birthday boy's mom is a party-planner extraordinaire, dear friend, and the creative mind behind her own party blog (click highlighted links to visit)! We were pleased as punch to contribute to celebrating this little partner's big day! With the custom monogram we created making its appearance even down to the topper of the cake, this is what we'd call a well "branded" event!

All the stops were pulled out to make sure this was something to hear about back at the ranch! The invitations, napkins, water bottles, favors, and thank you notes all helped set the tone for this western get together. After a helpin' of barbeque, all the ranch hands and cowgirls were treated to a horse drawn hayride as the sun set.

Happy Trails from HH Design House...and don't forget to check out P is for Party for more pictures and awesome tips!

Abby & Ryan: A Chic Fort Worth Wedding in Navy & Celadon

Abby and Ryan were joined together in marriage during an exquisite wedding held in Fort Worth, Texas. Following a church ceremony, the reception took place at Ashton Depot in downtown Fort Worth. We were thrilled to be involved in making their big day a day to remember!

This event exuded understated elegance with flower arrangements of different white flowers in varying heights, a frothy white six-tiered wedding cake, and the personalized logo created by HH Design House was seen everywhere...right down to the ice sculpture for the water luge. Fitting with the classy tone of this celebration, the couple chose the timeless favorite "It had to be You" for their first dance. Stardust to Soul, and even a little "Single Ladies", guests cut a rug to the sounds of Icehouse and played in the photo booth until nearly midnight. The couple left amidst a pyrotechnic show in a horse drawn carriage.

We wish you the best Abby and Ryan. May your marriage be characterized by the same energy, love, beauty and fun your wedding was!

Cheerful Disposition:An Island Baby Shower in yellow and blue

We were honored to be a part of this Summertime celebration in Galveston! The Island disposition of sunshine and oceans was really captured in the sunny yellow and soothing blue color scheme. The complimenting colors (a favorite of HH Design House's LG) were demonstrated in every aspect of this sweetly southern soiree.

No detail was left untouched...from the invitations, lovely flower arrangements, coordinating linens, personalized beverage napkins, right down to the invitation matching advice cards at every place setting. The Sugar Bean Coffee and Cream, located in Evia, was a perfect venue to celebrate this Mommy-to-be.

Thanks for letting us share in toasting this new arrival!

Pump it Up, 50's Style

Leave it to my friend Julianna to turn an ordinary party venue into a posh kids party!  I know there are other moms out there like me who always want to throw creative birthday parties for our kids at home, but that can be so exhausting.  The only problem is that public party spaces can be blah and let's be honest...quite ugly.  Julianna hosted sweet Rosemary's third birthday at an indoor bounce house facility and used the colors of the party room for inspiration.  She took the pink, red, black and white colors of the room and created a party with a 50's theme.  In true form, Julianna and Rosemary dressed for the occasion!

The precious record invitation was designed by the ever so talented Hayley Hardcastle.

kristen and shawn - university club, santa barbara

kristen's bouquet was made up of rust mini cala lilies, eggplant mini cala lilies, orange parrot tulips, black beauty roses and leonidas roses...for a personal touch, kristen asked that we tuck a clipping of ivy from her grandmother's ivy plant into her bouquet...

a rust mini cala lily accented by a sprig of fresh rosemary created a classic, yet rustic boutonniere...

the orange bouquets really popped off the navy bridesmaids dresses!

bridesmaids bouquets were made up of rust mini cala lilies, orange garden roses, camel roses and orange parrot tulips, then finished in a navy satin cuff...

even though the weather was overcast that day and the ground was wet, the girls came prepared...and color coordinated!

the reception was held at the historic university club of santa barbara...

kristen's color palette of navy, muted orange, rust and deep merlot was dramatic and rich...perfect for a winter, wine country nuptial!

the cake base was created out of over a hundred corks that the bride had collected...

...and the centerpieces were arranged in wine crates from the brides as well! each box was packed full of black magic roses, black bacarra roses, burgundy dahlias, orange parrot tulips, orange garden roses, milva roses, leonidas roses and rust mini cala lilies...burgundy hanging amaranthus, scented geranium leaves, fresh rosemary and baby artichokes added a romantic yet "earthy" quality...

Box of Goodies

I had this favor box made by Atelier du Papier to give to guests as a thank you for celebrating a special weekend with us.  We held a brunch to celebrate my son's Christening, my birthday, my parent's 40th wedding anniversary and Father's Day which all happened to be on the same weekend.

The inside of the box explained what each goody represented...the coffee was for Father's Day, the cookie was for the birthday, the champagne was for the wedding anniversary and the frame was for the Christening.

Truck Centerpiece

I think this centerpiece is super cute for a boy baby shower!

Spring Has Sprung

What a precious garden party my friend Alyson threw for her two little girls who turned 3 and 1.  Alyson is an amazing party planner and always pays close attention to every detail.  I love how she used garden tools (new of course!) to serve the food.  Speaking of the food table, the grass on the table looked so good.  And I always love the addition of lanterns.  The "dirt" dessert looked so cute and the little ones enjoyed painting flower pots.  Parties like this make me want a little girl!

A Toile Shower

These are pictures from a baby shower my friends and I hosted for a very good friend. She was not finding out what she was having, so we could not go with pink or blue. Even though we went with the typical generic color scheme of yellow and green, we gave it a fun twist with black and white toile.
