{Easter} Ribbon Cupcake Toppers
I love ribbon.
I mean I REALLY love ribbon! It may stem from my years as a florist, I just got used to having racks and racks of ribbon available for use. A couple years ago I asked my dad to build me a custom wooden shelf to house all of my ribbon (I'll show you that someday, when there isn't a giant pile of craft stuff in front of it!). The shelf is about 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide, and it's full. I may need another one soon!

I've made lots of variations of cupcake toppers over the years, mostly with paper and my various scrapbooking supplies. One of the things I really like about cupcake toppers is they can be made far in advance, and then take no time at all to add to the cupcakes.
I knew I was going to make some Easter cupcakes for a little party my daughter's are going to this week, so I looked through my ribbon, pulled out a few fun colors and made these cute and very simple toppers. An easy way to add color, and dress up the cupcakes, for very little cost or effort.
Want to make some?
All you need is some ribbon (I found that ribbon about 7/8 inch to 1 inch wide worked nicely).
You also need some kind of stick, this could be white lollipop sticks (available at most craft stores), or a coffee stir stick (available for free at any coffee shop... maybe buy a coffee too, so it doesn't feel so much like stealing), or this time I just used some little bamboo forks (from Target, sold near toothpicks).
Then cut your ribbon about 4 inches long, trim the ribbon at an angle, or into the little "v" shape like I did, add some glue (from a glue stick, or some double sided tape). Lay down your stick in the middle, and fold the ribbon over.
Then, when your cupcakes are baked and frosted, just pop the toppers in and voila! Instant cuteness! I won't even tell if you want to add ribbon toppers to store-bought cupcakes. I can keep a secret... I was voted "Most trustworthy" in high school... really!
(It was a Christian High school, so we didn't have "Best hair" or "Best dressed")
Anyway, go look through your ribbon, or head to the craft store, and look at ribbon in a new way! I can see them now... red, white and blue for Independance Day... pretty pinks and florals for Mother's day or a tea party... the possibilities are endless!

I love showing kid's stuff, but we grownups need some great parties too! I will pepper them in here and there for us! ...well, I couldn't eat for 27 hours because of a medical procedure this morning - and all I was craving was chocolate cake - my total weakness - I am not a big icing fan, but LOVE chocolate cake! So in honor of what I couldn't have... here are some fantastic desserts for your next party - I am focusing on presentation, can't vouch for taste! But I always say presentation is everything!

These are another omg moment - edible spoons with a dab of peanut butter mousse! How good would dessert be if you could eat the spoon too!?! (I'm sounding like a big 'ol pig lol!) I am SO making these - just waiting for the form to arrive! Source .... p.s. I bought my spoon template here
